Wordless Wednesday: Disney History

Disney History Donald's Breakfast At Restaurantosaurus

As you probably know, I love Disney history. It’s my favorite topic to write about, and I also love reading about it. I love seeing old photographs of the Disney parks. So, of course, I was thrilled to see the theme for this week’s Wordless Wednesday would be Disney history!

The above photo was taken in July of 1998 – the very first time I ever met Donald Duck! We had quite the time trying to find that duck! After a few trips to Disney, I realized I had never met Donald. So on this trip, meeting Donald was a priority. We kept asking cast members where Donald was, but he always managed to be at a different park than the one we were at. Then, we found out about Donald’s Breakfast at Restaurantosaurus where you could dine with your favorite duck. We quickly made reservations for later in our trip.

The whole experience at Restaurantosaurus, which is located in Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand USA, was fantastic! The food was delicious, the characters were so much fun to meet, and the theme of the restaurant was great! The grad students studying paleontology there have added their own little touches to the restaurant. You can find all kinds of jokes and puns in the decor, as well as, plenty of dinosaur themed decor.

Did you ever have the chance to experience Donald’s Breakfast at Restaurantosaurus? Let us know in the comments below!

My daughter made it through her whole first Disney vacation without meeting Daisy, so that was her number one priority on her second trip. I love the throw backs!

I think it took me a few trips to find her too. Now I see her just about every time I’m at MK.

Fantastic picture! I remember having a few very similar trips in the 90’s where we searched for Donald Duck the whole time and couldn’t find him. We loved Donald’s Breakfastosaurus!!

I guess Donald didn’t get out in the parks much in the 90s!

He’s so fun! After we finally caught up with him at Animal Kingdom, we kept seeing him everywhere for the rest of the trip. It was pretty funny!

If we can only ever see a couple of characters, it will always be Donald Duck and Chip ‘n’ Dale – love those guys – they’re hilarious!

I love seeing old pictures of characters! It’s amazing how much they’ve “matured” over the years! 🙂

It is! I especially love the really old photos. The characters looked so different when the parks first opened!
