When Can I Make FastPass+ Reservations?
FastPass Day, as I call it, is one of the most important parts, if not the most important part, of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. At 7 a.m. Eastern on your FastPass day, you’ll be able to make FastPass+ selections for your vacation. The date you’ll first be able to make these selection varies based on your hotel. Let’s take a look at the FastPass+ windows for each different type of hotel option.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel has so many extra benefits, making these hotels the ones I always recommend for anyone visiting Walt Disney World. One of those added bonuses to staying on-property is the 60 day FastPass+ window. Sixty days prior to check-in, guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can make their FastPass+ selections for the length of their vacation up to 14 days.
Select Disney Area Hotels
If you’re looking for a hotel option a little less pricey than the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels are a great option. Through 2019 these hotels, along with the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, have the same 60 day FastPass+ booking window as the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Below are the resorts included in the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels.
- B Resort & Spa
- Best Western
- DoubleTree Suites
- Hilton Buena Vista Palace
- Hilton Lake Buena Vista
- Holiday Inn
- Wyndham Garden
Staying Off-Property
Guests who are staying off Disney property for their vacation will have a smaller window for booking FastPasses. This can make getting popular FastPasses a bit more challenging, but guests staying off-property will still have plenty of FastPass attractions to choose from when their booking window opens. Guests staying off-property, including annual passholders without a WDW hotel reservation, will be able to make FastPass+ selections 30 days ahead of time. Unlike guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels and the Disney area hotels, guests staying off-property will not be able to make FastPass+ selections for the entire length of their stay when their FastPass window opens. Off-property guests will need to make FastPass+ selections one day at a time.
FastPass+ Tips
While certain FastPasses can be difficult to get, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting the FastPasses you want on your FastPass Day.
Make A Plan
Know which days you’ll be in each park and decide which FastPasses you would like for those days. You’ll also want to have an idea of the times you would like to get for each FastPass. When you’re in the parks, you’ll be able to get more FastPasses after using the first three FastPasses. For this reason I recommend scheduling your first three FastPasses in the morning. Be sure to write down your FastPass plan ahead of time, so it will be easy to know which FastPasses to get early in the morning. You’ll also want to have a contingency plan of which FastPasses you’ll get if one of the three you want is unavailable.
Wake Up Early
Your FastPasses will be available at 7 a.m. Eastern on your FastPass Day. Set an alarm, or maybe even two, to make sure you are ready to get FastPasses as soon as they are available. FastPasses for some of the more popular attractions go very fast, so the sooner you are able to make your selections, the better chance you’ll have at those popular attractions.
Check Back Later
If you’re not able to get the FastPasses you wanted when you first make your FastPass+ selections, don’t worry. Check back later to see if the FastPass you wanted opened up. You’ll be able to modify your FastPasses at any time. You’ll also be able to get more FastPasses after using the first three, so even if you can’t get the FastPass you want ahead of time, there is still a chance you can get it on the day you’re in the parks.

Every year the art of making fastpass reservations is getting more and more important.
It definitely is! By the end of next year, we’ll have three relatively new lands in the parks which will certainly make FastPasses for those new attractions a challenge.
My wife is a castmember so we can only make fastpasses a week out. All of the best rides are usually taken by then.
I’m sure! Even at 60 days, it can be hard to get some of the most popular ones.
