Walt Disney World Refurbishment Schedule Update for August 2018 - Be Our Guest Restaurant

Summer is soon coming to an end, but fall will bring many wonderful activities to Walt Disney World including the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and more. If your family will be heading to the parks this autumn, you’ll want to be aware of the scheduled refurbishments which may affect your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. The Refurbishment Schedule is subject to change, so be sure to  confirm any information prior to your vacation.

Magic Kingdom

  • Be Our Guest Restaurant will close for refurbishment August 20 – 24, 2018.
  • Until further notice, the Walt Disney World monorail system is undergoing refurbishments and may be on modified service and/or routes. If you plan to use the monorail during your visit, be sure to check the best option available on your day of travel.
  • The Liberty Square Riverboat is currently undergoing refurbishment until a date yet to be determined.

Epcot

  • Kringla Bakeri Of Kafe is currently closed. A re-opening date is yet to be announced.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

  • Construction on Disney’s new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, is taking place until further notice. During this time, guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms between dusk and 9 a.m.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas

  • Room refurbishments will take place at Jambo House mid-August 2018 through Fall 2019. During this time, it is possible guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms between dusk and 9 a.m.
  • Uzima Springs Pool and Uzima Springs Pool Bar are scheduled to be closed for refurbishment September 2018 through early December 2018. During this time Samawati Springs Pool and Maji Pool Bar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village will be available. Brief rides via shuttle transportation will be provided to and from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House. During this time, it is possible guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00am.
  • Jambo House is now participating in a pilot where transactions will be handled with convenient, cash-free options. All purchases and services at the resort will accept MagicBands, credit cards, debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption Cards and contactless payments such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay.
  • July 31, 2018 was last day of operation for the Children’s Activity Centers. Kid’s Nite Out remains available for guests looking for a babysitter service.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn & Villas

  • Construction on Disney’s new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, is taking place until further notice. During this time, guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms between dusk and 9 a.m.
  • July 31, 2018 was the last day of operation for the Children’s Activity Centers. Kid’s Nite Out remains available for guests looking for a babysitter service.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

  • Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Cabana Pool Bar, Goombay Games Arcade, and Calypso Trading Post are closed for refurbishment until further notice. A variety of dining options will be available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Centertown will serve breakfast and dinner. A selection of grab-and-go meals will be available for purchase at three island markets located in the Aruba, Jamaica, and Martinique regions of the resort. Additional a la carte offerings will be available at mobile food vending locations. In-room dining will remain available including pizza, sandwiches and pasta. The feature pool-Fuentes del Morro Pool – and leisure pools will all remain available. Recreation activities and entertainment will also be available. Buildings within Martinique and Barbados islands are unavailable to guests. During this time construction noise may be seen or heard throughout the resort, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms between dusk and 9 a.m.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

  • Pepper Market is currently undergoing minor refurbishments through summer 2019 but will remain open during this time.   If guests would like to experience one of the other dining locations, they can visit Maya Grill, Las Ventanas, Café Rix, Laguna Bar, Siestas Cantina and the newly reimagined space, Rix Sports Bar & Grill, featuring a variety of sandwiches, salads and refreshing beverages. All amenities will remain in operation, including the Dig Site pool area, La Vida Health Club, Salon & Spa and the Iguana Arcade.
  • The Dig Site, home to The Lost City of Cibola Pool, volleyball court, playground, Iguana Arcade and Siestas Cantina, will be closed for refurbishment September through mid-December 2018. While this work takes place, other exceptional amenities, including three leisure pools, dining and merchandise locations, La Vida Health Club, Salon & Spa and recreation activities, including Movies Under the Stars and Campfires with Marshmallows, will remain available.
  • General construction and room refurbishments are taking place until further notice. During this time, amenities including dining locations (such as the newly reimagined Rix Sports Bar and Grill) and merchandise locations, pools, La Vida Health Club with the spa and salon, and recreation activities such as beach volleyball, Iguana Arcade, Movies Under the Stars and more, will remain available. Please note that noise will be heard while the resort is undergoing refurbishments, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms prior to 9 a.m. daily.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

  • July 31, 2018 was the last day of operation for the Children’s Activity Centers. Kid’s Nite Out remains available for Guests looking for a child or babysitter service.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

  • Room refurbishments are taking place through Summer 2018. During this time, guests may see or hear work in progress and certain pathways may be unavailable. All work will attempt to be limited to after 9 a.m.
  • Construction on Disney’s new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, is taking place until further notice. During this time, guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms between dusk and 9 a.m.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts & Disney’s Beach Club Villas

  • July 31, 2018 was the last day of operation for the Children’s Activity Centers. Kid’s Nite Out remains available for Guests looking for a child or babysitter service.

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course

  • This course is operating as a 9-hole golf course while it undergoes refurbishment through late August 2018.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

  • Roadwork is taking place in the area until further notice. Intermittent overnight lane closures, lane shifts, traffic congestion and noise impacts can be expected along Osceola Parkway / Victory Way.

Overall not alot of refurfishments of rides going on in August. Most people on vacation should be able to do everything that they want in the parks.
