Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Sleeping Beauty Castle

Sleeping Beauty Castle

Did you know: Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland is actually partially made of gold! Walt Disney wanted to use real gold to make the spires of the castle sparkle. His brother Roy was opposed to this expensive idea. So, Walt waited until Roy was out of town and then had the spires plated with 22-karat gold.

I would totally be like Roy – the cheapskate realist in the family. But, I’m glad Walt snuck the gold in there. That’s awesome!

I just think it’s so funny that he waited until Roy was away and then put gold on the castle anyway!
