Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Roars Of The Lion King

The Lion King

The Lion King is one of Disney’s highest grossing films. It’s a favorite among both children and adults alike. I’m sure you’re probably familiar with the story of the young lion cub named Simba, but today’s trivia is about something you might not know about this classic Disney animated film.

When the lions roar throughout The Lion King, you’re not actually hearing a lion. The roars used in the film actually came from tigers! The filmmakers thought the more powerful roar of a tiger was more appropriate for the film, so that’s what they used.

Wow, what a great piece of trivia! I guess it puts a whole no spin on the phrase “I am lion. Here me roar!” 🙂

It sure does!

I definitely did NOT know that. What an interesting fact. I didn’t realize that a tiger’s roar was more “commanding”. Thanks for sharing.

I had no idea either! I’d kind of like to hear the two and compare them. I always figured lions had a powerful roar.

Well, they fooled me.

They fooled me too! I thought they used lion roars until the other day when my husband told me otherwise.
