Today Disney announced several new rules for visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. Under these new rules, large strollers and wagons, smoking, and loose or dry ice will no longer be permitted in the parks. Details of these new rules can be found below.
Beginning May 1st, Disney’s guidelines on stroller sizes will require them to be no larger than 31″ (79cm) wide and 52″ (132cm) long or smaller. Many strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers, fit within these size guidelines. As a reminder, wagons are not permitted in the Disney parks. Beginning May 1st, stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted. These updates are designed to help guest flow and ease congestion, making the parks more enjoyable for everyone.
Beginning May 1st, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California. Designated smoking areas will be available outside the entrances to these areas and at Disney Springs in Florida. Smoking areas are also available at Disney Resort hotels.
Beginning today, loose or dry ice will no longer be permitted for guests who choose to bring a cooler or cooler bag to store snacks and drinks while they are in the theme parks or water parks. It is recommended to use re-useable ice packs as a replacement for loose or dry ice. Free cups of ice are also available at quick service food locations inside the parks.
