The Highlights Of Disney At Christmastime

Christmastime is one of my favorite times of year, so of course I love being at the Most Magical Place On Earth at this special time of year! I love seeing the Christmas trees, lights, garlands, and other wonderful Christmas decorations at Disney. The special events and decorations at Walt Disney World make it an extra magical place to visit around the holidays. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights of visiting Walt Disney World at Christmastime.

The Osborne Spectacle Of Dancing Lights is  my favorite Christmas festivity at Walt Disney World. Located on the Streets of America at Hollywood Studios, this fabulous lights display features literally millions of sparkling Christmas lights. The lights are turned on around dusk each night with a special ceremony. About every 10 minutes, the lights will  begin to dance to holiday music. Starting this year, guests can even get in on the light show with the new Glow With The Show eat hats.

The decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. at Christmastime are truly magical. Located in the Town Square, you will find an enormous Christmas tree. As you walk down Main Street, you will see garlands with Christmas wreaths and candles hanging high above the street. Each of the stores on Main Street are also decorated for the holiday. But my favorite part of the decorations on Main Street is a somewhat unexpected surprise for central Florida. Every now and then, thanks to some Disney magic, it will begin to snow on Main Street, U.S.A.

The Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle are another magical highlight of visiting Disney at Christmastime. Each year, the castle is decorated with around 200,000 beautiful LED Christmas lights. These sparkling lights help to bring a wintery feel to the Magic Kingdom. Plus, the lights make for some great photos of Cinderella Castle.

Gingerbread houses can be found at several locations throughout Disney property. My favorite of these houses is the 16-foot-tall gingerbread house found at the Grand Floridian. This gingerbread house is spectacular. It is decorated with snow, Disney characters, and even a few hidden Mickeys. You can also purchase gingerbread shingles at this house. Other gingerbread creations can be found at other locations around Walt Disney World including the BoardWalk, the Contemporary, and The American Adventure in Epcot.

There are so many wonderful things to see and do at Disney at Christmastime! What is your favorite Christmas experience at Walt Disney World? Let us know in the comments below!
