Hidden Mickey Monday: Canada Totem Pole

Canada Totem Pole

Three totem poles can be found at the Canada pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. One of them is an authentic totem pole made from a 30 foot long cedar log. Disney hired Tsimshian artist David Boxley to create the work of art for the Canada pavilion. He actually created this beautiful totem pole inside the park where guests could watch. This totem pole tells the story of how the trickster god Raven fooled the Sky Chief and was able to release the stars, moon, and sun to bring light to the world.

The finished totem pole made its debut at Epcot in April of 1998. Since then, many park guests, myself included, have searched for the totem pole’s hidden Mickey. Once I heard of this hidden Mickey, it took me a few minutes to find it on the totem pole. After I found it, this hidden Mickey quickly became one of my favorite Epcot hidden Mickeys. Located just under the arm of the creature on top of the totem pole, this hidden Mickey blends in perfectly with the design of this beautiful work of art.

Have you spotted any other hidden Mickey’s in the Canada pavilion? Let us know in the comments below!
