With new offerings at each of the four parks, summer 2018 is shaping up to be an Incredible Summer at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests visiting this summer an experience new parties, new shows, as well as, a brand new land to explore!
An Incredible Tomorrowland Expo
Beginning May 25, a celebration of all things Super will take place in Tomorrowland. The Incredible Tomorrowland Expo will feature Mr. Incredible, Frozone, and other characters from The Incredibles and Incredibles 2, which comes to theaters June 15. This expo will also mark the first time guests will see Edna Mode, the greatest costume designer for the Supers. It’s safe to say this party won’t feature any capes, if Edna has anything to say about it! As part of the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo, Tomorrowland will be decked out with Incredibles décor and the sounds of Incredibles music. The Rocket Tower Stage will host a high-energy “SUPER” dance party. The Incredible Tomorrowland Expo will run through Setpember 3.
Guardians of The Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!
For more super hero fun, guests can head over to Epcot’s Future World where Star-Lord and Gamora will take guests on a musical journey through the galaxy. Featuring hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mix Tapes, the Guardians of The Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! concert series will have five showtimes daily June 9 – August 19.
UP! A Great Bird Adventure
April 22, 2018 will mark the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This day, which also happens to be Earth Day, will also see the debut of Up! A Great Bird Adventure. The new show will feature everyone’s favorite Senior Wilderness Explorer, Russell, and his furry friend Dug from Disney•Pixar’s UP. Together, the pair will discover bird species from around the world in this fun-filled show.
Opening Memorial Day weekend, Donald’s Dino Bash! is a “dino-tastic” celebration where Donald Duck takes over DinoLand U.S.A. Donald is celebrating his recent discovery that ducks are descendants of dinosaurs. As part of the celebration, Donald, Launchpad, Scrooge McDuck, and a few other Disney characters will greet guests in DinoLand U.S.A. The land will be decorated by Donald. At night, Donald will host a dance party, inviting guests to shake their tail feathers. This nightly dance party is the newest addition to after-dark entertainment lineup, keeping the fun going after sundown at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney H2O Glow Nights
Rex and his Toy Story friends will host a glow party bigger and better than ever at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. Disney H2O Glow Nights, hosted by Partysaurus Rex, promise a sudsy good time. All attractions will be open for guests during the party and a DJ will host dancing on the beach. This special-ticket event will take place from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays beginning June 21, 2108 and running through August 11. Tickets will be $55 plus tax for adults and $50 plus tax for children ages 3-9.
Toy Story Land Opening
The highlight of 2018’s Incredible Summer will no doubt be the opening of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30. The 11-acre land, which is part of a multi-year reimagining of the park, will transport guests into Andy’s backyard where they can enjoy two brand new attractions. Slinky Dog Dash is a family-friendly coaster where guests will dash around dips and turns designed to stretch Slinky Dog’s coils to the max. Alien Swirling Saucers will allow guests to board rocket ships as they spin around this Pizza Planet play set while being towed by those adorable green aliens. Guest favorite Toy Story Mania! will have a brand new entrance designed to look like a play set filled with carnival games. Toy Story Land will also feature a new quick service kiosk, Woody’s Lunch Box, which will serve tasty meals and old-fashioned soda floats.
