On March 13, 1928, as Walt Disney was returning to California after visiting New York City, he sent a telegram to his brother Roy. The message stated everything was OK and Walt would give details of his visit when he arrived. The truth was Walt had learned they had lost the rights to their cartoon character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
